Staota Yasna is the Avesta name of one of
the 21 Nasks of our Holy Religion. In Pahlavi, it is called
"Satud Yasht". its praise is mentioned in Yazishta ha
71. the literal meaning of "staota Yasna is
'praiseworthy of Yazishna'.
Generally the term is applied to the Ha's (or chapters) of
the five Gathas and Seven Ha's (or chapters of the Yasna
Haptanghaiti - i.e. Ha 35 to Ha 41). |
Yasna Haptanghaiti :
this refers to Yasna 35-41. The meaning of Haptanghaiti is
seven Ha's. (or chapters) (Haptan + Haiti) Yasna
42 seems to have been added as an appendix to it. It is
believed that this part is written between the age of the
Gathas and the Yasna. its composition is poetic prose.
Eight Kardas of the Haftan Yasht large are from Yasna
35-42. (Ref : -note on page 173 in Karda 1 of Haftan Yasht
large) |
"We worship you
through the prayer of Yasna Haptanghaiti" is in
Haftan Yasht large Karda 8 Para 1. |
